Oscar

Oscar is a polypedal cag with a liquid body. His body is cag-shaped, and his paws are lighter in color. His mouth is not drawn, however he does have one.

Personality

Oscar is easily sociable and outgoing, often chatting casually with others. He is majorly friends and housemates with Phil, and is partners with Jane. He works as a weatherman for a news station, and puts on a more professional, informative tone in the workspace. In part of his profession, he's easily enthusiastic about various hobbies or discoveries. He has a large kitchen partly dedicates to his own wellbeing, with a large specialized blender for relaxation and homogenization and a specialized filtration unit nearby for more thorough cleansing. He does not enjoy using the filter.

Personality shifts

Oscar has had two personality shifts. Initially, he had a more carefree, "ignorant" personality, also expressed by one of his eyes being drawn lower than the other. Over time, he shifted towards a more silly personality, with a passion in cosplay.

Characteristics

His body is composed of a liquid-like substance of which Oscar can easily control as if he had regular motor functionality. In addition to this, he can also control how cohesive his body is, allowing him to transition from a more oobleck-like solid form to a liquid puddle, and by using this he can swap between being monopedal and quadrupedal, though he prefers a monoped posture. In optimal conditions, he does not drip, soak, or track any of his liquid, and can retain a regular shape for long periods of time.

His liquid body is impervious to any physical harm, since hits and cuts simply displace the liquid. Instead, he is able to be contaminated and diluted by substances like dirt or water, which will cause him to have deteriorated control over his body and become woozy. If parts of him are separated, only the largest mass closest to his head will retain his conscious, and all other sections go inert until merged back into the whole. His eyes and ears are the only constants that remain visible in all states, and are biologically part of the liquid.

Temperature also plays a fair pair into his wellbeing. Room temperature is the limit towards which he is able to remain a permeable liquid. At higher temperatures, he begins to melt and lose control over his cohesion, in turn making him more tired and more desaturated. At the opposite extreme, colder temperatures will increase his cohesion and brown him more, if not solidifying the liquid itself, giving him greater control over his body and acting most similarly to caffeine.

Oscar is roughly 110 cubic feet in volume—this is his standard amount. At smaller amounts, his ability to form a cohesive body lessens as there isn't enough liquid nor strength to define his body. The minimum is about a sixteenth to a twentieth of his regular size, though control is severely limited and any further forces him into a sphere-shape (like water). If matter is lost, he can slowly regain it ambiently from humid air, or more directly mix with water in small amounts.

His speech bubble is the common ball-and-stick shape, with the stick being a triangle that has a soft, rounded tip. The infill of the bubble takes on his paw color, and the typeface is round and smooth, similar to Futura. Only the sides of the bubble connected to the stick are given a border; the rest uses the infill for distinction. When Oscar is diluted, the bubble will become wavy and messy, with the handwriting less neat.

Style guide

When drawing Oscar, you'll most commonly see him using his monopedal form. His overall body should feel slightly rounded at the corners, and not imply any solidity, unless the environment is cold enough to allow for such. Oscar's liquid is not reflective, so any highlights should be kept to a minimum. In his liquid form, he is most similar in property to water. You should also avoid giving or implying fur or any texture, as his surface is smooth and featureless.

His mouth should not be drawn, and his eyes should be portrayed as black dots—though, if it is necessary, his eye color is beige. Like with all cags, his head is a slightly flattened sphere and his ears are cones; he does not have a snout. His monopedal form should at most portray the rest of his body as a cone, and as a quadruped his legs and torso should be cylinders. His paws have no paw pads, and should preferably be spheres or hemispheres, depending on Oscar's posture.
