This wiki is in a testing phase! I'm currently rolling out the wiki in an early state to see if the software works statically. If you want to make changes or something has gone wrong, please post an issue on the GitHub repository.

The Lore

From the Aadenboy Wiki
Jump to navigation Jump to search

The Lore is the main storyline developed by Aaden, pivotally comprising most of his characters and art, and remains the largest and longest web of stories shown. The premise of The Lore is simply "to explore art", with various mechanics and plots being centered around the exploration of the production of art, stylization, and questioning of the lore itself. Meta-analysis and interaction also play a key part into the progression and depth of The Lore, with the characters within fully aware of and able to interact with any art featuring The Lore, as well as any commentary or documentation by those outside it.

While The Lore itself is vague as to what it contains, others are easily able to contribute to the story through the canonicity of their works. When an artist decides that their characters, story, or ideas are canon to The Lore, they are included within The Lore and The Hub, and can interact with anything else also canon to The Lore.

The Hub

The Lore's all-encompassing setting and lore is The Hub, an interconnected network of artwork. The Hub is an infinite, purple void containing an infinite amount of rooms for every artwork ever conceived and canon to The Lore, with glass paths snaking and forking towards each room. The rooms shift slowly over time, and the overall layout of each room is random. Every room is only an environment, and are determined by artwork the author conceives of it.

Throughout the Hub are an infinite mass of art styles eminating from the rooms they originate from. Art styles are purely visual, and have no effect on the actual physical properties on the characters inside of it; this is instead determined by the sublore of the room itself, and is independent of The Hub. It is a common social practice for characters to conform to the art style of the area they are in, as a means of respect to the artist, however it is not obligatory.

Sublore

The main sublore of The Lore involves the characters and settings designed by Aaden. The structure of the sublore is chiefly meta, with all characters able to access, respond to, and influence any media regarding them, such as art depicting their actions or the comments made by observers of said art. This meta layer also directly plays into the formation of each character, and also constitutes their ability to perceive events which are otherwise not canon to The Lore.

Characters in the sublore are implicitly accepting of the aspects of The Lore, and seem unbothered by the idea of their concept of being as an intentional decision rather than as a natural byproduct. Some characters like Damian and Daryl are even interested in the inner workings of The Lore itself.

Despite the permeability of the sublore, a guiding rule is that there is no conceptual fourth wall. Characters are unable to interact with the actual arrangement of art in any meaningful way, and they have no concept of the current reader, camera, or active storyline being portrayed. Any and all art featuring the sublore is strictly framed as a portrayal of the moment, with events that would otherwise lead up to the moment or follow after the event defined as needed.
